David Saiget

I have been practicing photography since the age of 14 when my Dad first put a camera into my hand, the classic Asahi Pentax Spotmatic (see photo). Beginning in highschool, I started studying black and white photography and continued study under Harrison Branch at Oregon State University. I’ve worked as a photojournalist for The San Francisco Chronicle, The Washington DC Times, The Nation (Bangkok), The Bangkok Post, and The Jakarta Post, covering Tibet, Nepal, and Southeast Asia. I have reported on the Chinese occupation of Tibet and the fall of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia in the 1990’s.

I shoot all genres of photography including landscape, macro, telephoto, time-lapse, sports, and still-life.

For videography, I shoot 4K & 6K indoor and outdoor video using cinema lenses.

Depending on the situation, I shoot from smaller APS-C cameras on up to full-frame and medium format digital cameras.

I also shoot Pentax 6x7 and 4x5 large format film cameras. I also shoot digital XPAN.

I am also a FAA Certified Drone operator taking high resolution stills and video using DJI drones.
